Increased Comfort and  Energy Savings

What is a Home Energy Audit?

A Home Energy Audit will identify sources of energy loss, locate leaks in your ductwork, and locate structural defects in your home's construction that allow unconditioned and contaminated air to be pulled into your living space. All of these problems result in higher energy bills and reduced comfort for you.

Watch the video from the U.S. Department of Energy below to learn more.

A home can also be too "tight."

Did you know that your home needs to breathe? For maximum safety and comfort, it needs to change its total air volume six or seven times a day. This is accomplished by fresh outdoor air entering and leaving your home through beneficial leaks in the home's structure, such as from around windows and doors.

A Home Energy Audit also tests for optimal ventilation—both before and after improvements are made.

What Can a Home Energy Audit do for You?

According to the Department of Energy, "The typical duct system loses 25% to 40% of the energy put out of the central furnace, heat pump or air conditioner." Are you throwing away 25¢ to 40¢ out of every utility dollar? Find out if you are, and how to stop it and start saving money.

As a specially trained Comfort Institute member, we offer this service to ensure the quality of your home's air and energy use. Using advanced diagnostic instruments and testing procedures, we will identify problems that affect your indoor living environment, and then provide you with a personalized plan to solve these problems.
